This past Sunday was the annual Mayfest celebration sponsored in part by Walgreens, on Springfield Avenue.  The streets were closed to automobiles and open for family fun.  Vendors lined the street selling everything from pulled pork sandwiches to support a local Boy Scout Troop to leather accessories, housewares and homemade ice cream.  There was plenty for the children to do as well with Bouncy Houses, Inflatable Slide, Train Ride and Face Painting.  If by chance you missed it this year be sure to mark your calendar for next year.  Community events such as this are just another reason why it's great to live in Maplewood, NJ!
